Let’s Help the Little Boy from Kálmánd, Sámuel-Noel Pozsonyi (Somika) from Satu Mare County in Romania!

Sámuel is suffering from a very serious illness. In August, he was diagnosed with a cerebellar tumor. Although he has already undergone several treatments, they have only slowed the tumor’s growth, which is not enough for survival. He needs to continue treatment at a clinic in Cologne, but the high costs are unaffordable for the family. They are asking for our help. 🙏

“It’s hard to write about this, but I have to do it now because we need help. Asking for help is one of the hardest things in life because we were taught to solve everything ourselves and endure. My son’s illness made me realize I have no choice if I want to give him a chance at life. I learned that there is no shame in asking for help, anyone in a similar sad and desperate situation would do the same.”

A brief overview of our story: My little boy, Sámuel-Noel Pozsonyi (Somika), is now 11 years old and until August 2024, he had a carefree, happy childhood with us, his parents, and his younger sister, 8-year-old Jázminka. However, on August 6th this year, we noticed an unusual symptom, a balance problem. That day, we took him to the emergency room where a neurological examination was ordered. The MRI showed that he had a cerebellar tumor, and the pressure on his brain could cause him to fall into a coma. We immediately traveled to Cluj-Napoca, where he was operated on on August 19th. The surgery was successful, but unfortunately, they could only remove part of the tumor, and it was determined to be malignant. This devastated us. What now? Questions, doubts, despair… Then, despite everything, we quickly made the decision: we cannot give up, we must move forward unbroken, because our son’s life is at stake.

We started treatment in Cluj: 30 sessions of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which we have just completed. My dear little boy endured the treatments, the radiation, the 40-minute MRI scan, without saying a word and without moving.

Radiotherapy and chemotherapy help to slow the tumor’s growth for a while, but here in Cluj, they can no longer provide further assistance. We tried in Debrecen, but unfortunately, they cannot help there either.

What do parents do in such a situation? They search, research, look for information because you can’t give up! There must be a way out! This is how we found a clinic in Cologne, which has had great success in treating cancer patients. So, there is hope, there is a chance in Cologne. We have already contacted them, and in three weeks, we would begin the assessment and treatment if God wills it. However, this treatment costs tens of thousands of euros, and we are asking for your help.

Since time is of the essence, we are asking every kind-hearted and helpful person to stand by us and help us take Somika to Cologne for the treatment, so he can have the chance to live a carefree, healthy life with his loving family again.”
